Nonprofit Healthcare Organization

Oracle Cloud Migration Delivers $200K in Annual Savings

Driving Efficiency, Compliance, and Scalability

Situation

The client, a nonprofit specializing in healthcare management, sought to modernize their IT infrastructure to address mounting challenges.

The organization’s on-premises environment, built on Microsoft technologies with SQL and Oracle databases, faced rising license costs and management complexity. On top of this, reliance on ActiveBatch workflows for reporting further increased overhead, and hindered the transition to advanced cloud-native reporting.

Seeking to optimize costs, simplify management, and modernize reporting, the organization evaluated cloud platforms and selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for its cost efficiency, scalability, and robust database and reporting capabilities.

Impact

Failing to modernize would have resulted in:

  • Escalating costs and inefficiencies from outdated systems
  • Limited scalability to meet growing demands
  • Increased reliance on manual workflows, reducing operational efficiency
  • Risk of non-compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Missed opportunities for advanced analytics and reporting

Resolution

We partnered with the nonprofit to modernize their IT infrastructure and seamlessly migrate to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) by:

  • Rehosting management software and migrating SQL and Oracle databases, utilizing OCI’s Database as a Service (DBaaS) for scalability
  • Transitioning reporting from ActiveBatch to Oracle Analytics Cloud, enabling automated and robust reporting
  • Implementing OCI’s cost-efficient pricing model to reduce infrastructure and licensing expenses
  • Using OCI’s native tools to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and protect sensitive data
  • Migrating over 2,500 ActiveBatch workflows to streamline processes and reduce manual effort

Outcomes

We transformed a healthcare nonprofit’s operations by modernizing their IT infrastructure through Oracle Cloud migration, delivering:

  • A 40% reduction in infrastructure and licensing costs, with annual savings of $200,000
  • A 50% decrease in database and reporting management efforts, freeing IT teams for strategic initiatives
  • A 30% improvement in report generation speed, enhancing accuracy and customer satisfaction
  • Seamless infrastructure scalability to accommodate growing customer demand
  • Improved adherence to healthcare data regulations using OCI’s built-in compliance tools
